About Stacey

For as long as I can remember, I have always had a love for movement. Throughout my youth, I figure skated competitively, played softball and tennis competitively, danced competitively all through high school, worked at fitness centers throughout high school and college and was a Certified Spin Instructor teaching group fitness for 10 years, but it wasn’t until I had my first son that I discovered Pilates. After the birth of my first son in 2001 and once medically cleared to exercise, I took my very first Pilates class and instantly fell in love! As an avid fitness enthusiast, I had done all kinds of methods of movement except Pilates, but once I did, I never stopped! It was truly love at first Rollup!

Pilates had consistently been the one movement method that transformed my body and healed my back and shoulder injuries. In 2012, I became very ill. I rapidly gained a tremendous amount of weight, became pre-diabetic and was in adrenal, metabolic and premature ovarian failure, resulting in full blown Menopause at the age of 40. My entire body, health and quality of life were severely impacted. Once properly diagnosed and with an effective treatment plan by my medical team, I recommitted to a consistent Pilates practice and the rest is history! Now, at over 50 years young, I’m the healthiest and strongest I have ever been. I am literally in the best shape of my life and I owe it all to Pilates. Through Pilates, I’ve lost 100 pounds, eliminated all back and shoulder pain, completely transformed my body and am finally comfortable in my own skin.

I became a Pilates Instructor because I’m living proof that Pilates can change your body and your life! I have both Classical and Contemporary certifications, as well as advanced certifications in Pre & Post Natal Pilates and a highly specialized Pilates and Breast Cancer certification. While comprehensively trained in both the Classical and Contemporary repertoires, I definitely gravitate towards variety and have a strong Contemporary style, which allows me the freedom to be creative with each and every client. I utilize a highly specialized, individualized approach, tailoring each session to my client’s specific needs and goals. I like to push my clients but also want them to have fun. My warm and energetic personality paired with the calm and comfort of my Home Studio will keep you engaged and smiling while working hard in sessions.

Helping others has always been my calling. Prior to becoming a Pilates Instructor, I was a Licensed Psychotherapist in Private Practice for over 20 years in Metro Detroit and a Graduate School Professor at The University of Michigan and Wayne State University, teaching Masters and Doctorate level students. As my children grew older and their needs shifted, I made the decision to retire from my Clinical practice and teaching after 20+ years and focused on raising my children. My retirement ended when I made the leap from Pilates client to Pilates Instructor and it was the best decision I ever made!

I truly feel so blessed to be able to do what I love each and every day. Changing people's lives through healthy, intentional and meaningful movement is truly a gift and I’m beyond blessed to partner with you on your wellness journey. When working with me, I can promise that your sessions will be creatively challenging, fun, and full of variety as we collaborate to achieve your goals. When I'm not teaching Pilates, I enjoy “Empty Nesting” with my adorable husband, visiting my adult children at their universities, watching Bravo shows (guilty pleasure), I’m a huge College Football fan (GO BLUE! GO GREEN!), I love to be in the kitchen cooking & baking delicious recipes and learning new techniques. I enjoy reading, traveling, hiking, being outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Pilates has truly changed my life and it can change yours too! I genuinely look forward to welcoming you into my home studio and helping you achieve your goals.
